The weekly Music and Movement series with Tom Carroll and Laurie Davidson is being held at the Carnegie Library on Thursdays at 10 a.m. during July and August. Young children of all ages and their parents or caregivers are invited to the free programs. Registration is not required. The series is supported by special funding from the Town of Montague. Thursdays, Aug. 2, 9, 16, 23, 2012 (10:30 am – 12:00 pm) Junior Refuge Explorers
Junior Refuge Explorers is a four part nature investigation for children ages 8-11. Each week, there will be hands-on explorations, games, and activities that will allow children to actively learn about the Connecticut River and the many critters that live in its watershed. This program will run four Thursdays in August (2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd) from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. Children who complete the program will officially be badged as Junior Refuge Managers! Weekly adventures include: a pond life investigation, a mock dinosaur fossil excavation, an exploration of worms, bugs, and other creepy crawlies, and a look at some of the captivating local wildlife. There is a maximum of 10 children so pre-register early at (413) 863-3221.

AGR 112: Food Preservation and Storage at Greenfield Community College
(1 credit~15 hours--offered for credit or not for credit through Community Education)
This course provides strategies and techniques for preserving and storing food. Topics include: kitchen safety, rules for food safety, canning basics, dehydration, cold storage and freezing, food selection, choosing and maintaining equipment, and awareness of local food resources.

Falltown String Band
