NEED A GARDENING HELPER!

Looking to hire a non-smoking, honest, reliable person to do the most boring parts of gardening & landscaping = digging; pulling up clumps of grass, spading up certain weeds sprout by sprout, picking up fallen branches, snipping out unwanted saplings, etc.

Need someone both energetic AND patient with the detailed stuff. Someone who focuses well!
You MUST be able to take care yourself re: deer ticks.

Age 14 and up. $8.50 an hour for someone under 18; $10 an hour if 18 or older.

ASAP! There's a lot to do in the next few weeks.

Montague Center location; and possibly some work in Greenfield if you have time and transportation.

DOES ANYONE HAVE

Denise If you are (or anyone else) on Facebook. I started a page there called Backyard Gardeners. I took the name from the group that was started here. It seemed that people did not often have the time to meet in person, so I thought it might be easier to meet in a virtual setting. You can ask questions, give advise, arrange plant or seed sharing, share photo's etc....... I invite anyone who is interested to like on the page Backyard Gardeners on Facebook. It is my hope that this concept can be shared and take on a life of it's own. I am by no means an expert, far from it. I do love to garden and am interested in sharing what I do know and learning from others.

DOES ANYONE HAVE "EXTRA" HOSTAS or YELLOW-LEAF VINCA?

Extreme gardening NEWBIE would love to adopt any "extra" hosta stalks or yellow-leaf vinca ground-cover that you have growing! I am happy to do the digging up = CAREFULLY dividing = if you feel comfortable with that.

Am seeking to start out with little or no monetary cost, as I'm limited by some chronic illnesses (NOT contagious!!) from putting much time or energy into playing with plants. Even though I love it....

So far, hostas and vinca are among my favorite growing things that seem to "take care of themselves" once situated in the right spots.

A master gardener I visited today gifted me, unasked, with two hostas to add to the 4 I already have planted. They will be going into the ground tomorrow. Thrilling!

Thank you, dear neighbors, for any plantings or leads.

Can I borrow your hole digger (tamper bar)? Montague center

I'd like to make a stick sculpture which requires making a couple of deep holes. In the past I've used a heavy digger with a pointy end, not a hole digger per se. I seem to have lost my heavy digger and I'm wondering if anyone can spare theirs for a day this week. Thanks. Karen 367 2858

Looking for a Saab mechanic.

I've heard Nap's on Federal Street in Greenfield is good with Saabs. I've been dealing with them for years for my (first) Escort and (now) Subaru, and I've been very happy with them. They were recommended to me by a guy I knew who took his Saab to them.

Good luck! :-)

I'm relatively new to the area, and my Saab's engine is sounding like it needs some attention. Any suggestions, recommendations, or vehement warnings?

Thanks in advance.
