one-bedroom apt for summer sublet Montague Center

One-bedroom apartment for sublet in Montague Center.
I'm going out of town from June 2-August 28 and would like to sublet my lovely apartment (furnished) to the right person/people.
Although I'd like to rent it for the entire time, please get in touch if you only need it for a shorter time. That could also work.

The apartment is about 500 square feet with kitchen, living room, dining room/office, and separate bedroom.

It is in a 100-year old house in Montague Center, 10 minute walk from the Bookmill. There are two other apartments in the house, one an efficiency and the other a two-bedroom occupied by the same mother/daughter team for the last 10 years or so.

There is a porch, yard and garden. Come and enjoy the flowers and use the garden space for your own flowers or vegetables.

Discounted rent is $500 month, plus electric (usually $35). Why discounted? Because I'd like to get someone really nice! And also someone who is willing to take good care of the place and water my few but beloved potted plants. :)

Call or email for more info or to set up a time to visit. I have pictures I can send on request.

Feel free to share with others who might be interested!

someone to help piece together a Nintendo DS lite

My toddler got a hold of my 12 year old's Nintendo DS Lite and now the flip top screen is unhinged on the right hand side and barely hanging on the left. Does anyone know how to piece this together again? Electronics is not my forte! Thanks!

Do You Have a Large 4-6 Bedroom House That You Don’t Want to Upkeep?

Perhaps you would like to downsize but can’t imagine the headache of renting your large and unique home? We are a small group highly responsible community minded folks (mostly couples, ages 28-35) looking for our next living situation. Our current housing lease will end and we are looking to move into a new place in April. We are a very reliable, conscientious group of builders, gardeners, farmers, house cleaners, artists, and land stewards and are quite capable of caretaking your space as if it were our own. We are flexible with rent, and we are also open to work trade. We are non-smokers, have no pets or children, and our references are stellar.

We are looking to stay in the Montague, as we have local work, family, and connections here. Call if you are intrigued by this idea, or know someone who might be - 413-834-4269
~ Thanks! - Walker

Join our 3 bedroom home in Montague Center Jan 1.

Hi,

We are two professional females in our early 30's looking to add a new housemate to our 3 bedroom home in Montague Center. The available room has a bedroom and office space. There are two full baths in the home, a washer and dryer, wood stove, large backyard, garden space, and some nice 1847 charm. We are eco-minded, non smokers, who compost, recycle, and try to live as green as possible. We prefer pot lucks and game nights over parties and are looking for someone who would fit in with that mind frame as well. We have one very friendly female fixed indoor cat and would be open to another. Rent is $400 per person a month plus utilities. We currently do not have television (though we do have a TV for movies). We are also looking for someone who would be interested in participating in creating some community here with shared chores, occasional house meetings, and occasional shared meals. Drop me an email and I can send you some pictures of the place and we could set up a meeting time.

Thanks!
Tara

Delightful APT. for RENT = Montague Center = JAN. 1

BRIGHT, SPACIOUS 4 rooms with beautiful maple floors, large yard, garden space & storage available. Floor plan best for a couple, or single parent with 1 child, but can work for 2 housemates who don't mind having different-size bedrooms.

RENT = $1100. HEAT & HOT WATER INCLUDED.
You pay your own electric & cable TV. Open to an internet share (I have Comcast.)

A rental agreeement requiring 60 days notice to end the tenancy is available instead of a 12-month lease.

ROOM SIZES = Two rooms are EACH 15x15 feet. The eat-in kitchen is 15x20 feet. The 4th room, usually used as a bedroom, is 9x11 feet.
All of the rooms open into each other, but you can curtain the French doors for more privacy.
YOU HAVE THE WHOLE 1st FLOOR. (I live on the 2nd floor.)

Kitchen has hook-ups for washer and dryer. I may be able to supply a dryer, but not a washer.

Due my health needs, your laundry products must be FRAGRANCE-FREE. These are easily available in stores = All major brands make "Free & Clear" detergents, fabric softeners, and dryer sheets. I am happy to supply starter products.

LARGE yard, with lots of room to grow flowers & veggies.

Montague Center area = 20-minute drive to U.Mass; 8 minutes to Turners; 10 minutes to Greenfield.
Walk to The Book Mill, Post Office, Grange {regular contra & folk dances & concerts).

There are 2 buses to & from U.Mass. each weekday.

NON-SMOKERS ONLY. Please be totally honest, reliable people who care about your surroundings and will notify me promptly when something needs repair.

If you're willing to remove your outdoor footwear when you come inside, that's a big plus. (See "gorgeous maple floors"!)

No dogs. One or two well-behaved cats who NEVER scratch woodwork or floors, don't miss the litter, and never "spray" are negotiable.

SOME WORK EXCHANGE IS POSSIBLE~~depending on your skills availability, and interests = housecleaning, garage cleaning, light carpentry, yard work, light office work, internet biz.

Thanks in advance for your interest!

Looking for apartment OR long-term house sitting in Montague Center

Are you selling a house or going on an extended leave and don't want to leave your house un-attended during the winter?

Or do you have an apartment to rent out?

My partner Jason & I have been living in the Greenfield-Montague area for years, and are looking for a place to land by the end of October (or earlier), when our landlord is moving back into our current house. Minimally we'd like somewhere to be over the winter but ideally would like to stay in one place for at least one year. We're focusing on Montague Center, Greenfield or Shelburne Falls. We are in our late 20's, are land-based people and are quite experienced in housesitting and in the care-taking of properties and homesteads, including living with wood heat, gardening & landscaping, and care of pets, poultry, livestock and milking goats. We have excellent references. We're non-smoking, no kids, no pets, no drugs or alcohol. We share 1 car and prefer to be within a 15-minute bike ride to a town center. Also preferable is a sunny spot and some space to garden.

If interested, please contact Efan: efanhsieh@gmail.com, or 978-430-7355

Thank you!

Montague Center Housemate Search

David_Kaynor I hope to find a housemate or housemates by 10/1/2011 for my large apartment in an old house in the heart of downtown Montague Center.

The apartment is an interesting 2nd and 3rd floor space with at least 2 bedrooms available on the 2nd floor. There are 1.5 bathrooms, nice common space, and other amenities. Various room/rent configurations are possible.

The household has been music-oriented since its formation in 1987 and has hosted weekly Monday night fiddle music sessions since 1995. We've always been multi-generational, socially/politically/environmentally thoughtful, and flexibly semi-cooperative.

A little about me: I play fiddle, teach lessons, and play and call dances both around Franklin County and farther afield. I'm a member of Montague Grange.

Please contact me if you'd like to learn more.

Are you interested in renting out your large house?

Do you own a large 4-6 bedroom house that you wish you didn't have to heat for the winter?

We are a group 5-8 highly responsible folks (mostly couples, ages 28-35) looking to stay in our group living situation. Our current situation has fallen thorugh and we are looking to move into a new place between September and October. Minimally we are just looking to get through winter, but if it is the right place, a longer lease is great. We are very community minded, consciencious group of builders, gardeners, farmers, house cleaners, artists, and land stewards and are quite capable of caretaking your space as if it were our own. Rent is negotiable, and we are also open to work trade. We are non-smokers, have no pets or children, but do each have a vehicle so ample parking is necessary.

We are looking to stay in the Montague area, as we have local work, family, and connections to the town. Call if you are intrigued by this idea, or know someone who might be - 413-834-4269. Thanks!

2 or 3 bedroom for Rent in Turners Falls, Sept. 15th

Hi, we're leaving our apt. Sept. 15th and our landlord is looking for new tenants...

This is half of a duplex, with the two sides back-to-back - it's really like two houses stuck together. The neighbors behind the house are super quiet. They have their own driveway & entrance on the other side of the house.

The house is on a dead-end street in downtown Turners. There is a HUGE yard, which our daughter has enjoyed immensely - very rare for downtown. The landlord is open to the idea of a garden (we have a small one now). Beautiful flowers out front.

Two good sized bedrooms upstairs, and an office/bedroom downstairs off the kitchen. The attic space is going to be re-done before you would move in, resulting in even more usable space! Large basement as well. Washer & Dryer hook-ups.

This is a great space - very large, and an amazingly kind and considerate landlord who lives next door on the weekends.

Wonderfully central location - you can walk to the park, the bike path, the Voo, the library, the grocery store...

Rent is $800, and does NOT include utilities. Lease begins Sept. 15th.

If interested, please contact me. Thank you!

looking for a small house to rent

Hello. My name is Michelle. My partner Ted and I are trying to find a small house to rent in western mass. Living in a private house on a community/ homestead would be good too.
We have been traveling around work trading on different organic farms for the past couple years and now would like to settle down for a year or so. Some of our interests include organic gardening, vegetarian cooking, artisan bread baking, homesteading, primitive skills, natural building, non violent communication, child care, meditation, bike riding, slow food, recycled arts, etc. We are looking for a small place with a decent size yard we can turn into a permaculture garden.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or know of any helpful contacts. Thank you,

Happy summer,
Michelle
