All of a sudden the rebels can penetrate the inner sanctum and assassinate high ranking Syrian gov't officials? I think Bashar was tying up a few loose ends before he makes a run for it. Wait and see if he doesn't blame his late brother-in- law for civilian deaths during his war crimes trial at the Hague...
