Quiet country living in convenient location. Share? rent?
I'm currently looking to change my living situation, and am looking for an individual or couple to share my house with, or to rent it out completely. It is located on a very quiet dead end street very convenient to Rt 2 in Erving. Behind the house is hundreds of acres of forest land open for public use. A few minute walk will get you to the M&M trail, as well as some of the most popular rock climbing in the area at Farley Ledges.
The house itself is 1200 sq ft, has 3 bedrooms, one bath, an office space, wood stove, bright kitchen, a small workshop, washer/dryer, dishwasher, a two car garage, a raspberry patch, garden space, a chicken coop (with chickens still laying eggs!) cable internet, new insulation, and propane forced hot air ( to supplement the wood).
It's about 10 minutes to Montague Center, Turners Falls, or Orange,15 to Greenfield, 35 to Amherst, Brattleboro, or Northampton. It's also 5 minutes to two bus stops that will get you anywhere from Athol to Northampton.
If you are interested in renting the whole space, it will be $1100/ Month plus utilities and move in time would be flexible (need time to get my stuff out!) but could be anytime starting in January. Work trade could be negotiated for lower rent as well.
if you are interested in sharing the house, it's very negotiable, depending on your needs and if you want to do some work trade. Anywhere from just splitting utilities up to $300-500 (the high end would include ample storage space in the dry garage) plus splitting the utilities which total about $250 a month (propane, electric, phone and internet. Cable TV is here but I don't use it).
For houseshares i'd require an interview process and multiple references. I'm a 40 hr/ week professional in land conservation, and have events/meetings most nights and weekends. I'm environmentally committed, safe, tolerant, substance-free, socially conscious, community oriented, tidy, and an open clear communicator, and would expect the same from anyone sharing.
Be in touch, and enjoy the winter!
