Montague Historical Society
The Montague Historical Society represents all five villages in Montague. The Society is housed in the Montague Grange hall on the common in Montague Center.
Our goal is to archive local history, including family histories and photos, schools, historic buildings photos and much more. The space is for research. We do not have open hours, but would be delighted to show you our renovated space on the second floor of the Grange hall.
We often get requests for information from this web site and help as much as we can. The Society is all volunteer with an executive board. We offer membership to anyone who loves history and desires to help preserve a space to house our collections.
We have one or two meetings a year on a variety of subjects. Fund raising to maintain the archives is ongoing as we have no other source of income other than membership dues ($20) and gifts.

Turners Falls photos Hello,
I'm trying to track down photos of downtown Turners Falls from the 1920s-1960s for a documentary film. If anyone has any or know where some may be found, please let me know.

Clapp House The Clapp house on route 63 is for sale with a 5 acre lot - including the pond. Is there anyone interested in purchasing the house to renovate - not demolish.
Moses Harvey house? Does anyone know if the home of Moses Harvey (1723-1795) still stands? He was a state legislator and active in Shays' Rebellion

Potter Family in Montague If it's a small cemetery on Greenfield Road north of Swamp Road, the few folks who were interned there are now buried in Elm Grove Cemetery, across the street from Rau's Sunoco.
