RiverCulture Hard Hat Auction
June 25, 7pm, $25

Just over a week until the big event!  We have a limited number of discounted advanced tickets available at WRSI's General Store.

A playful riff on the ongoing construction of the Gill-Montague Bridge, “Under Construction” features a live fashion show and auction of one-of-a-kind hard hats designed by area artists including: Fafnir Adamites, Daniel Brown, Nina Rossi, Gayle Kabaker, Donna Estabrooks, Laurie Goddard, Karen Gaudette, Frank Gregory, Tony Palumbo, Ramiro Davaro-Comas, Andrew Knox, Rebecca Clark, Sharon Lamonakis, Ami Podlenski, Barbara Milot, Ann Harding, Helen Pleasant, Cristine Levitre, Al Dray, Jack Nelson, Laura Herbert, Rachel Teumim, Louise Minks, Dick Little, Melinda Baughman, and more.  See our facebook page photo gallery for hats and descriptions.

The black tie/blue collar event (a.k.a be creative and dress  however you want!) to benefit Turners Falls RiverCulture, emceed by our Police Chief, Ray Zukowski, will feature music by Michael Nix; a fashion show of all the hats choreographed by Wilson’s Department Store's Tamara Beauregard; a live auction of the hats with auctioneer and owner of Holy Smokes BBQ Delicatessen, Lou Ekus; a silent auction of hats and other handmade items and services; remarks by Sen. Stan Rosenberg; and a post auction dance mix curated by Rob Fletcher and Laura Herbert, not to mention satisfying hors d’oeuvres and a bar with beer and wine.

Silent auction items include a Cape Cod weekend, Quinnetukut II riverboat tickets, canoe and kayak day rentals at Barton Cove, house concert with Heather Maloney, Green River Ambrosia Mead with hand made tote, gift certificates to local restaurants and establishments and much more.

On display, but not for sale, will be hard hats created by hard hat artist, Karen Gaudette's, middle school class.  Read more about that in today's Recorder here.

Tickets are available online here; at World Eye Bookshop, 156 Main Street, Greenfield or at the door the day of the event.  PHOTO: Governor Deval Patrick hold's Melinda Baughman's "Hey, Cupcake!" hard hat in front of the 2nd Street Baking Company.
