Children’s Author Visit
Friday Feb 24, 2023, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PMAstrid Sheckels will read her latest picture book, Hector Fox and the Daring Flight (the third adventure in the Hector Fox series) and do a drawing demonstration at the Montague Center Library.
Astrid Sheckels cannot remember a time when she was not drawing animals, especially imaginary ones, or telling stories about them. So she felt right at home creating Hector Fox and his friends and bringing them to life with her detailed watercolor illustrations in the pages of Hector Fox and the Giant Quest, Hector Fox and the Raven’s Revenge, and Hector Fox and the Daring Flight. A new Hector adventure will be coming in Spring 2023.
Other books: She is the award-winning illustrator of Nic and Nellie (which she also wrote), The Scallop Christmas, The Fish House Door, Hope Somewhere in America, Black Cloud and Tennessee Rose.
Astrid Sheckels lives in western Massachusetts where she enjoys going for long walks, reading books, singing, needle felting, and making art. She occasionally gets to talk to foxes. Visit her art world at www.astridsheckels.com.
