MN. Why can't you figure out what PEOPLE that worked and PAID into SS. That is the SS 1 1/2 % increase in the BENIFIT that THEY paid into for years. Easy enough for you to understand now?????? 1 1/2 % versus 25% Just a bit different..

Just for the record, no clarification yet from the OP on who, exactly, is getting "a whopping 1 1/2 % raise", or what, exactly, is being raised (their costs? their benefits? ??)
Also, no admission that the increase to food stamps pre-dates the Biden presidency. Or any explanation of how these two things are at all related to each other.

Rob - thank you for trying to provide some context.
newbie - what are you talking about? What are you referring to when you say that "people ... [who] PAID into Medicare got a whopping 1 1/2% raise"?

okay now I am seeing the news of the 25 to 27% increase based on a bill passed in 2018 which was before Biden was president. From CNN
"The update comes as part of a USDA review of the food stamp program required under the 2018 Farm Bill. Congress ordered the agency to re-evaluate the plan by fiscal 2022 -- and every five years thereafter. It was last adjusted in 2006."

source of information is lacking from this post. Who got 1.5% raise? Sounds like social security and about the same amount it has gone up in recent years. I saw in the news a temporary increase in SNAP benefits of 15% from April until September but it was not permanent. Because some people got extra help you are upset you personally did not get anything?
