Interested Thursday Gentle Yoga Class?
Hello neighbors,

I teach Vinyasa Flow Yoga at the Montague Common Hall on Tuesday evenings, and I am looking into offering two 5-week Gentle Yoga sessions this summer called "Yoga Essentials for a Strong Practice." This is a great opportunity to kick-start or refine your practice, right here in your neighborhood. Don't miss it!

Please help me assess the level of your interest by clicking a couple of buttons in this 20-second survey. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QTR65RS

CLASS DETAILS:
Thursdays: 5:30 - 6:45PM
Session 1: June 9 - July 7
Session 2: July 14 - August 11

THE GOAL of this series is to provide an opportunity for a gentler, slower paced yoga class, which will spotlight several fundamental postures to help establish safe and optimal alignment for your advancing practice. Gentle Yoga postures will help reduce stress, unwind the body and calm the mind, while low-impact core strengthening exercises will help increase stability and mobility and help with postural injury prevention and balance. In addition, each class will feature a new breathing and relaxation technique helpful in maintaining a calm focus and in improving emotional well-being. The series will provide a safe a nurturing environment for beginners and advancing Yogis, while seasoned practitioners will benefit as well by bringing an open mind and curiosity, and refining their practice.

OTHER DETAILS:
Cost: $10-$13 per class, depending on when you register and for how many sessions.
Pre-registration required. (sign up for one or the other, or both and save!)
You can miss one class per session and comp by attending a Tuesday class at any time.

Please let know soon if you might be interested! Again, here is the 20-second survey to help me assess the level of interest in the community: 20-second survey. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QTR65RS

If you know someone else who might benefit from this class, please forward this info to them.

Thank you so much!
Warmly,
Nadya

Me too. I play fiddle and am always interested in getting together to jam. I know lots of tunes, but have difficulty coming up with them without prompting. I'm probably about intermediate.

Hello SusanKay,

Thanks for responding about the old time jam. You are the first person to respond to the note. I don't have a time, place or frequency to do this thing. I thought once enough of us showed interest we could decide amongst ourselves. I was thinking it would be great to be able to use the Montague Grange. I don't know if it would be free or not at this point but I plan on checking into that part. That's great that you can round up a fiddle or two. I'll stay in touch after giving more people time to respond and check on Grange availability.

Looking to start an old time music (not bluegrasss) jam. Hopefully there will be intermediate players like me that are interested along with skilled players. I was thinking of a regular get together if possible at the Montague Grange. I am working on my clawhammer skills any other banjos, fiddles, guitars, bases, etc. out there in need of jam time?

Cindy Green, family dance caller
Dear Family Dance Communities:

Cindy Green is seriously ill. As of Friday she was moved from the Cooley Dickinson ICU to Kindred Hospital Parkview, 1400 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109. She is in Room 512.

This is a long-term acute care and rehabilitation hospital. She is too weak to talk on the phone, but cards are welcome.

An outpouring of cards could help as well as boosting both Cindy's and Grace's morale. Also if anyone has anything that is funny and could help Grace distract herself periodically that would be helpful.

Thank you for holding these two dear women in your prayers.

Anne Flaherty (mother of Miette and Ivy)

Montague Grange meeting tonight
We'll be meeting tonight (Wednesday) at 7pm in the hall. It seems like there is a lot of good stuff happening, and, as always, there are problems to be thought through and solved. Agenda as far as I can tell so far, in no particular order:

--Summer camps at the Grange!
--Building renovation/capital campaign update
--Recent donations
--Yoga classes at the Grange
--Ferd's Amazing Card party this Friday
--Basement dehumidification update
--Lawn: we desperately need mowing and we have ants

Please let me know if there are other things we should discuss. See you at 7!
