Contact: Llani Davidson, Permaculture Designer
Broadfork Permaculture designs, implements and maintains backyard gardens for clients with an emphasis on food production and education. Clients learn to grow their own food at home turning lawn into edibles in one season. We use permaculture design techniques including site assessment and analysis, space layout , planting charts and bed preparation. We offer small carpentry projects and help clients plant, weed, water and harvest their produce.
Broadfork Pemaculture offers clients assistance in designing, implementing and maintaining backyard home vegetable and flower gardens. Our goal is to help clients grow or eat more of their own organic food from their own home gardens while promoting sustainability, permaculture and local food production.
I focus mostly in Shutesbury, Leverett, Wendell and Pelham with the possibility to expand further into the valley. Working with the clients goals I provide:
-A site assessment including bed placement , water management, microclimates, best use of space, etc. which provides information for the overall layout and design.
-General bed preparation including a soil tests, digging up sod or sheet mulching, preparing already existing beds, bringing in manure and adding amendments to enhance the soil.
-Creating a master planting schedule and helping the client with seeding, buying in starts, planting, weeding, and fertilizing as the client desires. Continued consultations and help as needed during the growing season.
-Doing other backyard related tasks such as general landscaping and yard clean up, small carpentry projects including tool sheds, compost bins or chicken houses.
