Wednesday: Montague Phantom Brian Exchange #19

MPBE #19 Features: Epicureans, Lyn Goeringer, lecture & DJ Bex Taylor and video by Overture Brown

Montague Phantom Brian Exchange is a monthly event of challenging entertainments hosted/curated by a Mr. Cloaca. A typical evening will include 2 - 3 performing acts, a 15 minute lecture, selections from a guest DJ & sometimes a short video or film. Held on the last Wednesday of every month.

Thursday: Summer Celebration at the Discovery Center!

To celebrate, the Discovery center will extend hours until 7:30 today! Come decorate a bird to carry in the Turners Falls Block Party parade; listen to live music with J.D. Keating and Skin-n-Bonz, the junkyard brass band; see Tom Ricardi's live raptor show with his birds of prey from the rehabilitation center where he cares for owls, hawks, falcons, eagles, and other raptors! Don't leave before the Kayak Raffle!

Thursday: Jeff Kreisler "Get Rich Cheating"

Not only a great place to hear music, the Rendezvous is a terrific comedy outlet. Come see for yourself with Jeff Kreisler this Thursday. Writes the San Francisco Chronicle "...A sweet-faced cherub with dark eyes that promise all manner of chaos... Kreisler changes the pace a bit with a slightly demented, extremely animated set that attacks everything...."

Mark Your Calendars! Tines & Tunes: July 11

Peskeomskut Park is the perfect site for the Shea Theater's family friendly summer BBQ blowout fundraiser! Live entertainment begins at noon and continues all day, with performances from the cast of The Country Players production of Oliver!, the 2009 Valley Idol and Valley Idol Jr. Winners, Katie Clark and The Green River Band, Still Creek, Ameri-MF-Cana with Ed Vadas and Sue Burkhart, Exit Reason and Haven't A Clue. For the kids, Mademoiselle Pixie Belle will be on hand doing face painting from 12 - 2 pm and balloon art from 2 - 3 pm. Refreshments include pulled pork, burgers, hot dogs, fresh corn on the cob, French Fries, soft drinks and beer.

Mark Your Calendar! Oliver! opening July 10th.

Keep your hand on your pocket watch, as the pickpockets take to the Shea Stage in The Country Players' production of Lionel Bart's musical "Oliver!" Based on Charles Dickens'classic novel "Oliver Twist" the music will get your toes tapping and start you singing "Food Glorious Food" and asking for more!

Opening Friday, July 10 at 8 p.m. and continuing July 11, 17, 18 with a Sunday matinee on July 19 at 2 p.m. Tickets can be reserved at the Shea box office in Turners Falls by calling 863-2281 ext. 1.
